Set your signing quorum

When you would do this

Set your quorum during setup, at the team step. Revisit it whenever the size of your team changes, or when you want tighter or looser control over money movement.

What a quorum is

Your quorum is the number of signers who must approve a payment before it executes, written as "2 of 3": two approvals needed, three people able to give them.

Only Admins and Signers count towards a quorum. Requesters and Viewers hold no signing key, so adding them does not change your numbers.

A quorum of 1 means any single signer can send on their own, subject to your policy limits. Higher numbers are safer and slower.

Steps

1. Go to Settings › Team.
2. Check how many people currently hold a signing key. That is the upper bound on your threshold.
3. Invite any additional signers you need, and wait for them to accept and complete their security setup. A signer who has not finished setup does not yet count.
4. When you invite a signer, the invitation screen asks whether to keep your current threshold or increase it. Choose deliberately.
5. To change the threshold on its own, an Admin makes the change and it is queued as a governance item.
6. Open Operation › Signing and sign the queued quorum change.

What to expect

A quorum change is not a setting that saves instantly. It is a governed action: it goes to the signing queue as a "Signer quorum change" and takes effect only once the required signatures are collected.

Your threshold can never exceed the number of people holding a key. If you remove a signer and that would leave you unable to meet your own threshold, resolve the threshold first.

Payments already in the signing queue when the change takes effect keep the rules they were created under.

Common problems and what they mean

"You need more signers." The threshold you picked is higher than the number of people holding a key. Invite another signer or lower the threshold.

"1 of 2 signed" and nothing is happening. The payment is waiting for a second person. Quorum is working as designed. Ask the other signer to open the signing queue.

A signer you invited does not count yet. They have accepted the invitation but not finished setting up their authenticator app and passkey. They hold no key until they do.
