Comparison

    Stablerail as a Fordefi alternative

Fordefi built an institutional MPC wallet for teams that interact with DeFi: dApp connectivity, transaction simulation, protocol allowlists and a granular policy engine designed to keep traders safe while they sign complex on-chain calls. Stablerail takes the same self-custodial premise in the opposite direction — toward the finance team. The transactions are vendor payments, payroll and card funding, and the surrounding product is approvals, screening evidence, fiat rails and month-end close.

    Choose Stablerail if

    • Your on-chain activity is paying people and suppliers, not interacting with protocols.
    • You need screening evidence, a counterparty register and an audit trail your accountant can use.
    • You want corporate cards and SEPA, ACH or SWIFT off-ramps funded from the same balance.
    • You hold USDT on Tron and want gas sponsored rather than managing TRX float.
    • Your approvers are finance people who should not have to read calldata.

    Choose Fordefi if

    • Your team signs DeFi transactions daily and needs simulation and contract-level policy.
    • You need dApp connectivity through WalletConnect or a browser extension.
    • You operate on exotic EVM or Cosmos chains outside Stablerail's twelve networks.
    • You are a trading desk or fund rather than an operating company with payroll.

    Frequently asked questions

    Is Stablerail a Fordefi alternative?

For a company treasury, yes. Both are self-custodial MPC, but Fordefi is optimised for trading desks signing DeFi transactions, while Stablerail is optimised for finance teams paying vendors, contractors and cards with screening and audit evidence around each payment.

    Are both self-custodial?

Yes. Fordefi and Stablerail both use MPC so no single party can sign alone. Stablerail additionally supports quorum-protected key export, and policy changes themselves require Admin plus signing quorum rather than a single admin action.

Does Fordefi provide fiat rails or cards?

No. Fordefi is a wallet and policy layer. Getting stablecoins into a bank account, issuing corporate cards or running invoicing means bolting on other providers. Stablerail includes SEPA, SEPA Instant, ACH, SWIFT, Faster Payments, virtual IBANs and cards in the account.

How do the policy engines differ?

Fordefi's policies are extremely granular at the contract and method level, because a trader can sign almost anything. Stablerail's policies are amount thresholds, allowlists, self-approval limits and signing quorum applied organisation-wide across every vault — readable by an auditor and configurable by a finance admin.

    Can we use both?

Yes. Some teams keep DeFi and trading activity in Fordefi and hold the operating balance that funds payroll, suppliers and cards in Stablerail, so company money is separated from trading workflows.
